We closed the pet store in July, 2007 to focus on our grooming business. We could not compete with Fred Meyer, Costco, Walmart, and other "big box" stores. |

Yes, we are licensed and insured and YES, we pay sales tax to CBJ. We pay the sales tax for you, so the price we quote is exactly what you pay, not a quote "plus tax". We also pay unemployment insurance taxes, workers compensation insurance premiums, income taxes, medicare taxes, social security taxes, property taxes, water taxes, garbage taxes, fuel taxes, and every other taxes and fees associated with running a business in Juneau. We operate from our location under a Conditional Use Permit issued by the City and Borough of Juneau. |

Dogs sometimes expel their anal sacs during the grooming process. Clogged anal sacs indicate a potential medical problem that is best treated by a veterinarian. We will not attempt to forcibly express your dog's anal sacs. |

You operate out of your house? Why don't you operate from a commercial property? [top]

We do not operate out of our home. Our residential property includes a legal accessory apartment that is currently used for our pet grooming business which is located under our residence. We searched for a commercial location for over 6 years. If you know of a commercial location that is less than 100 square feet, has water and sewer, adequate parking, doesn't require a lease, is located in the Mendenhall Valley, and has animal friendly neighbors on all sides, we'd like to hear from you. We operate from a residential (D-5) zoned location via a Conditional Use Permit issued by CBJ. Since there are no commercial locations that meet our needs available in Juneau, we would cease operations if we could not operate from our D-5 location. |

Yes! We are currently offering grooming clinics in Skagway and hope to add other SE Alaska locations. We can also arrange to pick up your pet from the airport and then return the pet to the carrier of your choice when they are done with their grooming/spa appointment. This service is not available during inclement weather which might trap your pet in Juneau or elsewhere. |

You're located in a residential neighborhood, are you abusing CBJ's flat-rate water billing? [top]

No. Our water is metered by CBJ. And, we use the Luxury Spa Bathing System which drastically reduces water consumption. |

YES! If the ears are reasonably healthy we are happy to clean them out at no extra charge. We use a top of the line ear cleaner made by Les Pooch (www.Lespoochs.com) that leaves dogs ears fresh and clean! |
